Description
Arimidex is an oral product produced by Dragon Pharma. Each tablet contains 1 mg of the active ingredient anastrozole. Anastrozole is an antiestrogenic drug and is the first drug in the class of third-generation aromatase inhibitors. Anastrozole reversibly binds to the aromatase enzyme by competitive inhibition and inhibits the conversion of androgens to estrogens in peripheral (extragonadal) tissues.
Anastrozole Effects
Anastrozole has a significant effect on estrogen levels. It works by blocking the enzyme aromatase and thus blocking the production of estrogen in the body. Since many forms of breast cancer cells are stimulated by estrogen, lowering the levels of this hormone in the body can slow the progression of the disease.
Steroid-using athletes take Anastrozole to minimize side effects associated with elevated estrogen levels often seen with anabolic-androgenic steroids. Compared to traditional medicines like Nolvadex and Proviron, Anastrozole can control estrogen levels much more effectively.
How to take Anastrozole
For the prevention of anabolic steroid side effects, anastrozole is usually taken from the second week of the steroid cycle. The usual dose is 0.5 mg every 3-4 days starting from the second week of the anabolic steroid cycle.
If a side effect such as gynecomastia already exists, Anastrozole should be taken 1 tablet (1mg) per day for 7 days or until the symptoms disappear.
Studies show that a daily dose of 1mg causes estrogen suppression in more than 80% of patients.
