Description

Tretizen-20 is a medicine used to treat severe acne that does not respond to other treatments, including antibiotics. This product is manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Zen Labs and contains the active ingredient isotretinoin. 13-cis-retinoic acid (isotretinoin) was first synthesized in 1955. In addition to acne, the indications for the use of the medicine are rosacea, perioral dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, folliculitis, granuloma annulare, sarcoidosis, various disorders of keratinization and photoaging.

Effect of isotretinoin

Isotretinoin stops the proliferation of epithelial cells of the sebaceous gland ducts, the formation of debris, facilitates their evacuation and normalizes terminal cell differentiation. Isotretinoin facilitates secretion and reduces sebum production.

Following oral administration, absorption of isotretinoin is variable, bioavailability is variable and low, taking isotretinoin with food increases bioavailability by 2-fold.
