Megamentin 375

Description

Megamentin 375 is an oral product produced by the company Intas Pharmaceuticals. There are two drugs combined in this product. These are amoxicillin (an antibiotic) and potassium clavulanate (a beta-lactamase inhibitor) which work together to kill bacteria. The drug is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections of the ear, sinuses, throat, lungs, urinary tract, skin, teeth, joints, and bones. It is often used to treat acne, which is a common skin condition caused by bacteria on the skin.

Each drug substance has a different action so that together they can effectively kill infection-causing bacteria. Amoxicillin is responsible for preventing the growth of bacteria. It does this by stopping the formation of the protective shell that is crucial for bacteria to survive. Potassium clavulanate is responsible for reducing the resistance of bacteria and enhancing the activity of amoxicillin.

How to take amoxicillin tablets

Depending on the severity of the infection being treated, the required dose of the medication is generally 750 to 1125 mg per day (2 to 3 tablets taken at regular intervals throughout the day). The drug is taken until all symptoms of infection have been eliminated. Do not stop taking the medicine early, otherwise some bacteria may be present and become resistant to the medicine.
