Description
Proviron is an orally administered androgen called Mesterolone (1-methyl dihydrotestosterone) from Dragon Pharma. Mesterolone is a strong androgen and shows a weak level of anabolic activity. This is because, like dihydrotestosterone, Mesterolone is rapidly reduced in muscle tissue to inactive diol metabolites, where the concentration of the enzyme 3-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase is quite high.
Effects of Proviron
The belief that the weak anabolic nature of this compound causes blockage of androgen receptors in muscle tissues, thereby reducing the benefits of other, more potent muscle building steroids, should not be taken seriously. In fact, due to its very high affinity for plasma proteins, such as SHBG, Mesterolone can actually affect the activity of other steroids by converting a greater percentage of them into an unbound free form.
In athletes, Mesterolone is primarily used to increase androgen levels during dieting or competition preparation and as an anti-estrogen due to its ability to counteract aromatase enzymes. Mesterolone may be effective in increasing the androgen to estrogen ratio, leading to increased muscle hardness and density, maintenance of libido and general sense of well-being, and increased tendency to burn calories. It is also widely used to prevent gynecomastia, while other aromatized steroids are often used in combination with 10-20mg of Nolvadex per day.
Instructions for use of Proviron pills
Many bodybuilders prefer to use Mesterolone during drying periods or in preparation for a competition, when low estrogen and high androgen levels are especially valued.
The usual dosage for male athletes is 50-150mg of Mesterolone per day, or 2-6 25mg tablets. The medicine is usually taken in cycles of 6-12 weeks, which is enough to see results.
